On the outskirts of Athens are the remains of what was once the ancient city of Mycenae, which dates from 2000 BC, associated with the Achaeans and Mycenaean civilization, particularly the sons of Atreus and the Trojan War. The place was one of the largest centers of Greek civilization, a military stronghold which dominated much of southern Greece.

This site declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1999, is made up of a ruined palace area in which more or less you can see the structure of which was Klitemnestra Palace. It also integrates the archaeological complex of palaces, fortresses of the Achaean world, with its tholos funeral of kings.

You can also see remains of the walls attributed to the giant Cyclops or mythological figures of lions, among other things. Tholos, named “Treasury of Atreus” is the most important structure of Mycenaean art. The enclosure has a circular floor about 15 meters in diameter with a dome made of stone, the most beautiful of ancient times to the construction of the Pantheon in Rome.

In Santorini, tourists will discover beautiful landscapes and also Greek Santorini is a Greek island of great beauty and one of the most visited by tourists, especially on Valentine’s Day. There is nothing better than to visit Santorini in Greece with your partner.

Santorini you will find the best dishes of Greek cuisine, but also find monuments of ancient Greece are extremely powerful and natural sites, among other things. The landscapes of Santorini are a distinct and highly recommended to enjoy our trip.

The islands of Santorini is a very special place, because the birth of these islands because of volcanic origin and was due to a volcanic eruption that formed so that today these islands are so attractive to tourists and is a very desirable. He certainly is a similar origin to other islands, but always very interesting to know the origin of everything and in particular the islands of Santorini, a beautiful place and where you can enjoy all the natural attractions.
It’s funny if we see the islands from the top, because they are surrounding a sort of crater, which originally would be the large crater that gave birth to these islands and slowly began to disappear to leave the islands as the remains of their appearance. It is a very interesting in regards to its origin but it is no less for its beauty, because it is a very desirable place to come in pairs and enjoy nature more beautiful, beautiful landscapes and many other things.

This group of islands is one of the most emblematic places of Greece, not only for its volcanic and how it occurred, but the result of the formation of these islands and beautiful nature can be appreciated in it, with beautiful sunsets, beautiful beaches and many other things. It is a very desirable and no doubt you’ll get a pleasant surprise.

It is the third largest city in Greece, regarded as the political, economic, administrative and cultural life of the west of this country.

Athens, always under the protection of the goddess Athena and the hero Theseus reached such political and cultural superiority in ancient Greece, when the writers wanted to refer to it simply spoke of the city. The glorious past is sensed at the sight of the Acropolis, around which the most traditional neighborhoods of Athens served the current setting for that constant throb of Mediterranean life that you know to extend the lounge of each house to the street itself.

These districts are the Plaka, Monastiraki and Anafiotika. For some time the Greek capital tries to rearrange its major urban planning projects. But not here, not in this maze of streets at the foot of the Acropolis, where flavor, color and Mediterranean music invaded all psychologies, all characters, so that no one knows who is a tourist abroad, Greek or citizen.

Plaka, on the northern slope of the hill, is a chaotic set of buildings. The legacy lives on in the bazaars Turkish: the neighborhood is normally chosen by travelers to the acquisition of memories. Marvel is looking up and bring out from anywhere in the presence of the Parthenon, and amid the incessant crowds and bustle life fall into a quiet reverie about the time of Pericles.

At night you have to go to neighboring Monastikiri to taste a dish in one of the many bars, restaurants, bars and taverns. Depending on our previous experience nomadic, perhaps recognize a certain similarity with the food of other countries such as Serbia, in part by a shared history at times. On the terraces of Monastikari bouzoukis hear the sound and guitars.

Greek Folklore is one of the major players in these neighborhoods. If luck is with us, perhaps in any premises an anonymous voice surprised us with the interpretation of tunes that have made great divas of the Greek song. Haris Alexiou and Eleftheria Arvanitaki, to name just two among the performers set admirable, the real stars of music in Greece, we still remember what a true artist.

His performances in theaters and stages across the country, full of epic and a feeling that perhaps in our idiotic pop-scale and we are unable to calibrate, are events that call for the sincere fervor of the crowds.

In Greek acropolis means “city on high”, and it is in the top of the sacred mountain of Athens, is the Acropolis of Athens.

This is where you find one of the most representative buildings of Greece, where they have temples, meeting rooms where important personalities used to spend long hours of entertaining talks and also where is the Parthenon, one of the most important temples of Greek civilization dedicated to the deity Athena, goddess of wisdom, strategy and just war.

Its construction was taken place in the V century BC, led by Pericles and Phidias architect, after the Persian wars that led to Greek democracy.

Made in Athens on the hill above, it has 300 meters long and 150 wide, rising 156 meters above sea level. It is also known as Cecropia, after the mythical snake man.

Both the temples with its impressive columns, and sculptures in relief that despite the passage of time can be observed, leave us a glimpse of the power and the magnitude of the Greek people, the one where its citizens participated in some of the decisions of society.

The temples of this region have become the most famous architectural symbols of both ancient history as Greece. Today the Parthenon is an icon of Greek culture

Athens is located close to the sea and surrounded by high mountains, forests and hills. Among the latter we can refer to the Lykavittos hill (Greek ??????????).

The location of such increase is found in the heart of the capital city of Greece, and its majestic size leaves little to the fortification around Athens. The view is spectacular Lykavittos offering, allowing to see the entire city, including the sea at the bottom of the picture. On sunny days you can also see the islands of Salamis and Eyina.

On the hill is a cable car that climbs to the top, but despite this, walk the walking trail can be a rewarding experience, as the pine forests are in the course are among the few that are green oasis in Athens.

On the summit there is the chapel of St. George (????? ????????) built in the nineteenth century with the traditional style of small chapels decorated Orthodox Greece. It is also an outdoor theater, where they make large musicals and plays.

You can also enjoy the local cuisine or simply enjoy a coffee or a beer at the coffee bar there, from the terrace from which you can enjoy magnificent views. So if you are visiting the city of Athens, no doubt Lykavittos Hill is a convenient option.

But Crete, especially noted for its important historical flow, full of museums, art houses and fortresses.

Among those present who can take the island, are the various crafts such as ceramics and jewelry worked and beautiful carpets. You can not leave without trying one of their delicious dishes, some more classic Greek cuisine. Some examples of local food are the Viritiko Chorin, which are a juicy pork chops, or if you dare, try the Saligaria, which is based on snails in tomato sauce. Furthermore we recommend the Lonkoumades, which are little fried donuts, very tasty and you’ll find no problems. If you love wine, Gentilini (white wine), is ideal to accompany a special dinner, and if you want to try a local drink, is the Raki.

While all Crete looks like an island out of a history book, one of its main attractions is the Palace of Knossos, on the hill of Kefala. This place not only enjoy the spectacular archaeological material, but they also were to take the best pictures of the valley and the river Kairat. According to some scholars, this palace was the one who gave birth to the myth of the labyrinth, as legend has it that the island was inhabited by a minotaur named Asterion, a mythological creature half man and half bull, who received her honor in sacrifice young men and women of Athens, until the great hero Theseus put an end to the life of the beast.

This palace was built is estimated that in 1900 BC, and in 1700 an earthquake destroyed it. Later it was rebuilt by taking from the ruins, and what we see today are the remains of the second palace. In this palace lived the king, together with all the dignitaries and clergy. It was an important administrative center in his time, while it was considered sacred.

At the sides of the central courtyard, which are discovered at the time were state agencies, sanctuaries, houses and workshops. Large vessels, columns, vaults and beautiful paintings, obviously, copies of the originals are in the Archaeological Museum of Heraklion are in their versions of real fresh.

The Peloponnese is a paradise and a favorite with tourists from around the world, who come there to discover its charms and natural wilderness. Located in the southern part of Greece, this peninsula is separated from the territory by the Corinth Canal.

High mountains, rocky areas, beaches, clear waters and virgin forests dominate the landscape. Its shores are washed by the Aegean Sea, Mediterranean and Ionian, which mixed with the naturalness and warmth of its people make the coast of the Peloponnese a unique place.

It is considered the cradle of modern Greece (it was in this region which gave birth to the War of Independence in 1821), which is materialized in the ruins and monuments that still remain in place, belonging to old civilizations that settled there . Olympia, birthplace of the Olympic Games, is a clear example of this, and all visitors are in it, a quirky charm marked by the past still breathes in the present of this beautiful area.

The main attractions of the Peloponnese are: the Archaeological Museum of Sparta, Mycenae, the ruins of Mystras, Corinth and Nafplion among many, all of which are easily accessible using public transport or by car rental, half common used by visitors.
