Capital of Greece

Greece Capital

Athens, the capital of Greece, is a city very rich in history, architectural monuments and universal culture, all attractions that became one of the most important tourist centers of all time.

The truth is that while Greek civilization enjoyed its heyday, Athens was the main Greek city-state. And about 500 and 323 BC, was also the largest existing cultural and intellectual center on the face of the earth.

Athens

Needless to say that Athens was the birthplace of many of the ideas that shaped civilization as we know it today. For example, the very concept of democracy forged its form and meaning in the Greek polis.

Since 18 September 1834, the city of Athens is the capital of Greece, one in which there are many monuments of medieval times, the Byzantine-style churches, museums and world art history, and a host of venues for plays, shows and music of all kinds, in which Greek culture and civilization remain intact, despite the intervening centuries.

Also, the Acropolis, the Greek Parthenon, the Temple of Athena, the museum Athena Nike and the Academy of Plato, are among the places that you can not miss if you are in the capital of Greece. And perhaps most important Athenian appeal, whatever it is the product of myth and legends that have fueled past and recent history.
