Naxos was explored with great success by Kondoleon. In the inner region, south of the village of Sangri, there was an archaic temple of Demeter and Core, which was subsequently integrated into a V century basilica d. C.

The ancient city of Naxos agreed on the name and the site with the current town. In the archaic period the remains of an Ionic temple of the sixth century C. Discovered in 1924 by G. Welter as a hekatompedon and later excavated and studied by G. Gruben from 1968. The temple, in honor of Apollo, was in antis on both fronts, while the cella was divided into three naves.
In the 60′s, Zaphiropoulos addressed a necropolis near the town of Tsikalario, who had been in use since the Geometric period until the seventh century.
Kondoleon studied in great detail the ancient city of Naxos and the necropolis of Aplomata rich Cycladic sculptures. Among various materials recovered in archaic strata of Naxos and Paros were numerous documents that prove the ability of the sculptors of these islands.

The island of Rhodes, returns to the spotlight of the world, as it did in ancient times one of the Seven Wonders of the World: The Colossus of Rhodes can be reconstructed
With the help of the German artist Gert Hof, and international finance, is planning to build a new colossus would be a giant light sculpture adorn the exterior of the dock at the port of Rhodes in a way that was visible to passing ships .
In the words of project manager in Greece, Dr Dimitris Koutoulas can hear that: “Unlike the original colossus that is made of light. We are talking about a very, very innovative technology to create sculptures of light, allowing 60 to 100 meters so that people can enter it physically ”
Although we are only in the initial phase of the project is planned to be the largest light installation in the world. We’ll see if we see one of the ancient wonders of the world.
The Colossus of Rhodes was a statue erected in the third century BC in gratitude to God for protecting them in the battle, the famous Colossus remained standing only fifty years since an earthquake reduced it to rubble. However, that earned him little time to become one of the seven wonders of the ancient world and to create a legend that lives on today (and which are still looking for the remains.) If you want to visit Rhodes, you can do it by flying to Athens.

In the Ionian Islands Lefkada is a very green and mountainous island which is located between Corfu and Kefalonia and binding, for its natural beauty, thousands of tourists every year. It has beautiful scenery, beautiful beaches and very friendly people so there are people who come to spend the summer every year.
The island has 14 villages, although the capital has the highest concentration of people and attractions. But please, do so not blind you to travel around the island and meet the other villages.

Syntagma Square is the focal point of Athens and one of its most tourist can easily reach the main attractions in a scenic area dotted with taverns and monuments. Precisely here lies the Hotel Pan in which we go to sleep today.
It was built in 1960 and completely renovated in 1998 and is ideal for work and business travelers as it is within walking distance of major banks and ministries, as well as the post office and other institutions of Athens.
Considered a city hotel, Pan is a three star hotel managed by Giorgos Panagiotopoulos, who took charge of the renovation in 1981. There are a total of 33 rooms spread over 8 floors and categorized as single, double, triple and family.

So, the tourist in Athens can start to go the Central, or South, or why not the north or the west of the city.
In addition, the city can be toured on foot as there is a footpath of about 4 kilometers linking the archaeological sites; for it, you can take the pedestrian street which is called “Dionisiou Areopagitou. ” From there you can climb to the Acropolis to see the Greek Parthenon, and the Erechtheion, the Acropolis Museum, with its thousands of parts and archaeological relics, and the Propylaea.

In the western part of Naoussa, is the popular beach Monastiri. A place in Greece with many identities, warm beaches and available to the tourist looking for relax. It is also a site closely associated with the holidays, many of which include live concerts and lots of color.
One thing to know is that tourism in the town we will find another beach also very beautiful and famous, called Kolymbithres. Here we have a good food to us, embodied in a large number of restaurants.

Athens is not only the capital of Greece, but also the country’s largest city and the cradle of Western civilization.
More than three and a half million people live in Athens – the region where democracy was born – representing almost one third of the total population of Greece.
The metropolitan area of Athens is situated on a plain of 427 square kilometers, although in this region also has many hills. The important hills are Filopappos Athens, Lycabettus and Tourkovounia.

Greece is a great winter destination. At the moment not as cold as in the rest of Europe so that the warmth last a little longer this time.
Both December and January is low season here in Greece so there’s less people, good air quality in the capital, best deals on hotels and all the joy and beauty of the celebration of Christmas, New Year and Epiphany.
It’s holiday time and it starts with the feast of St. Nicholas or St. Nikolaos, on 6 December, special day when many Greeks exchanged gifts.
