Athens is located close to the sea and surrounded by high mountains, forests and hills. Among the latter we can refer to the Lykavittos hill (Greek ??????????).

The location of such increase is found in the heart of the capital city of Greece, and its majestic size leaves little to the fortification around Athens. The view is spectacular Lykavittos offering, allowing to see the entire city, including the sea at the bottom of the picture. On sunny days you can also see the islands of Salamis and Eyina.

On the hill is a cable car that climbs to the top, but despite this, walk the walking trail can be a rewarding experience, as the pine forests are in the course are among the few that are green oasis in Athens.

On the summit there is the chapel of St. George (????? ????????) built in the nineteenth century with the traditional style of small chapels decorated Orthodox Greece. It is also an outdoor theater, where they make large musicals and plays.

You can also enjoy the local cuisine or simply enjoy a coffee or a beer at the coffee bar there, from the terrace from which you can enjoy magnificent views. So if you are visiting the city of Athens, no doubt Lykavittos Hill is a convenient option.
