The Ruin of Athens
Thursday, June 9th, 2011Athens is a city rich in archaeological sites, ranging from the archaic age of Greece until Roman times. Most of these places are open to the public. It highlights the five major archaeological sites located in the center of the city, Acropolis, Ancient Agora, Roman Agora, Kerameikos and the temple of Olympian Zeus.

Sobran the archaeological remains of a smaller size to the length and breadth of Athens , usually visible in public. Some of these remains important are Lantern Lisícrates, the monument of Filopappos, the Library and the Arch of Hadrian. There are a lot of small debris: the remains of walls, roads and tombs in Kotzia Square, Roman baths Amalias street, next to the National Gardens, the remains of a house with mosaics in the National Gardens, a vertical section of several archaeological layers at the Syntagma metro station, among others. So then carried out restoration and renovation to preserve these colorful debris.
