Léfka Óri means White Mountain, takes nearly all the central part of the West of Crete and is what characterizes the region.
Madares, Léfka Óri or white mountain is a mountain range whose main components are limestone, granite and dolomite.

Samothrace : The Sanctuary of the Great Gods
Samothrace is an island north of the Aegean, from the department of Evros. With less than 180 km2 in area, is guarded by Mount Fengari in the center of the island, 1600 meters, the highest peak in the Aegean Sea.

Since ancient times, Samothrace was a place of worship, in fact, in the year 700 BC the Greeks built a temple complex, the Shrine of the Gods, now we know.

The excavations here began in 1856 and have not yet completed. The ancient city was Palaepolis near the north coast and adjacent to the current Samothrace, if something is familiar it is because here was found the famous “Winged Victory” in 1863, a sculpture which is currently at the Museum El Louvre designed to celebrate the victory of the Battle of Salamis.

Also called Nike of Samothrace, the Hellenistic era of great theatricality, his classical and baroque stamp indicates it was made by sculptors of Pergamum. It is carved in Parian marble, and is not the only monument in the sanctuary that is in this museum. (more…)

The island of Naxos , considered the largest of the Cyclades, is a place that keeps the sand in 6,000 years of history, which inevitably express themselves in every monument, every archaeological site, and each of its beautiful beaches, which are many.

In this island of Greece , the beaches of Agia Anna and Prokopis are two symbols, full of tourist services and entertainment, along the beaches of Plaka, Ahios Mamas and Psili Ammos, which have similar amenities.

Chora is the capital of Naxos, there is the port and the main tourist attractions, such as “Home,” the remains of the temple of Apollo . The city was raised on the medieval castle, which features new and old city alternator produces an enchanting landscape, full of connected streets, including surprise us in stressful historic attractions like the museum.
