Flights to Crete – Have you not yet visited this amazing island, so it’s time. It is a journey you will never forget as Crete has so much to offer, both culturally and naturally. When you come to the island, do not cheat yourself to spend at least one of your holidays to rent a car or a scooter. There are some super nice beaches on the island and then there are the great mountain range which runs across the island, which you must cross en route. “Omme on the other side” is really cool attractions like. Samaria Gorge and Elafonissi beach, which is so nice, friendly and delicious that you should visit it to understand it.

Crete

Crete (Kriti Greek) with 8,261 km ² is the largest island in the Aegean Sea and the fifth of the Mediterranean. It is shaped and measures 265 kilometers long from east to west and between 10 and 56 kilometers wide. It is one of the thirteen regions or peripheries of Greece. Its capital is Heraklion.

The island is divided administratively into four provinces or prefectures, Khania (or Chania), Rethymno, Heraklion (or Heraklion) and Lasithi.
There are two international airports, one in Khania and the other in connection with Athens Heraklion, Mykonos, Santorini, Rhodes and Thessaloniki. On the north coast are several major ports. There are U.S. naval bases in Heraklion and in Suda Bay.

On the Aegean, Crete is the largest island in Greece, with an area of 8,300 km to be 1040 kilometers of coastline.

Your visitors will emphasize its beautiful beaches, blue waters and white sands and tranquility of a walk along cobblestone streets. In its landscape, the mountain ranges which stand out are along the island, planted green fields covered with vegetables and fruit trees.

But Crete, especially noted for its important historical flow, full of museums, art houses and fortresses.

Among those present who can take the island, are the various crafts such as ceramics and jewelry worked and beautiful carpets. You can not leave without trying one of their delicious dishes, some more classic Greek cuisine. Some examples of local food are the Viritiko Chorin, which are a juicy pork chops, or if you dare, try the Saligaria, which is based on snails in tomato sauce. Furthermore we recommend the Lonkoumades, which are little fried donuts, very tasty and you’ll find no problems. If you love wine, Gentilini (white wine), is ideal to accompany a special dinner, and if you want to try a local drink, is the Raki.
